Curiosity, Creativity, and Joyful Learning
September at Vision Montessori of Chantilly brings a beautiful blend of seasonal discovery, hands‑on learning, and meaningful classroom experiences. As a year‑round Montessori community, our children continue progressing through their developmental journeys while embracing the unique wonders that early autumn brings.
Classroom Highlights
-
Infants: In the Infant community, children are experiencing early autumn through rich sensory exploration. Activities include discovering fall colors, listening to the crunch of leaves, exploring seasonal textures, and creating nature‑inspired art. Infants will also participate in simple, age‑appropriate recognition of Labor Day and Grandparents Day. Weekly themes progress from Labor Day to Grandparents Day, Colors of Autumn, Johnny Appleseed, and Harvesting Joy.
-
Toddlers: Toddlers are strengthening classroom routines while exploring community helpers, transportation, and seasonal changes. They will learn about how people help the community, explore travel by land, air, and water, celebrate Johnny Appleseed through apple activities, and observe leaves changing colors. Academic work includes reviewing letters b, c, d, recognizing numbers 4, 5, and 6, learning about land and water, continents, weather, and animals, and participating in hands‑on science experiments.
-
Primary: Primary students are engaging in a month of identity exploration, community awareness, scientific observation, and cultural learning. They begin with All About Me—exploring families, emotions, and friendships—followed by Community Helpers, Transportation, Johnny Appleseed, and Leaves Changing Colors. Children will participate in hands‑on activities, nature observation, and thematic learning that supports independence and curiosity.
-
Pre-K/Kindergarten: Kindergarteners continue advancing academically through individualized Montessori work while participating in the same thematic sequence as Primary. Their academic focus includes phonetic sounds, blending, ending sounds, comprehension, writing, addition, subtraction, word problems, geography of countries and continents, and hands‑on science experiments. Weekly themes include All About Me, Grandparents Day, Transportation, Johnny Appleseed, and Leaves Changing Colors.
We want to thank all of you for sharing your children with us this year. Please continue to help your child/children with lessons taught at school, as repetition is the key to success!
